The Rev. Sharon A. Alexander is the eighth Rector of Trinity Episcopal Church, overseeing both Trinity Episcopal Church and Trinity Episcopal Day School. She has served in several capacities in the Diocese of Louisiana, including Vice Chair of the Executive Board, Chair of Dispatch of Business for Diocesan Convention and Chair of the Diocesan Deputation to General Convention. Sharon enjoys spending time with our youth and has served as clergy chaplain at several Happenings. Each year she takes a mission trip to Cochabamba, Bolivia to visit the orphanage at La Villa Amistad www.amistadmission.org. Prior to her service at Trinity she served as Priest-in-Charge at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Mandeville and prior to that as Director of Community Services/Outreach at Trinity Episcopal Church in New Orleans. Sharon grew up in Texas and was an attorney in Dallas before attending seminary. She enjoys photography, reading, college football, Houston Astros baseball and spending time outdoors in the natural beauty of the area.
Deacon Charlie deGravelles was ordained in 1995. A long time prison minister, he is the founder of the Episcopal prison ministry at Angola (Chapel of the Transfiguration). He has also ministered to those with addictions and other marginalized groups. He has been a teacher and chaplain at Episcopal High School since 2002. He is a published poet and performed composer. Charlie and his wife, Angela, have three children and two grandchildren.
