Trinity Church

Worship

The Worship Ministry assists the Rector and other clergy in planning and leading the worship services of Trinity Church.  The Ministry helps oversee all groups that affect the worship services such as Lay Eucharistic Ministers, Acolytes, Altar Guild, Flower Guild, Ushers and Music.  The Worship Ministry is under the direction of Susan Newman.

Acolytes

The Acolytes are represented by the youth of the church and assist during the worship services.  Being an acolyte is a privilege and  a meaningful way for young people to give of their time and talents. They are assigned to various services on a rotating basis. Contact the church office for more information.

Altar Guild

Throughout the church year, the Altar Guild is responsible for the care of the altars, linens, brass, silver and candles. The teams meet on a rotating basis to prepare for the Sunday and weekday services, and any special services that may occur during that week. New members work with experienced members to learn what to do and how to do it.  The head of the Altar Guild is Margaret Wilson.

Flower Guild

Flowers at Trinity are provided by the volunteers of the Flower Guild. The guild provides floral arrangements in the church for all Sundays except during Lent, with extensive floral decorations at Christmas and Easter. Flowers for special occasions such as receptions may also be provided by the Flower Guild.  New members are always welcome and experience is not necessary. The head of the Flower Guild is Emily Wilbert.

Lay Eucharistic Ministers (LEMS)

Their main duties are to assist the priest.  All Eucharistic Minsters must go through training and be licensed by the Diocese of Louisiana.  Please contact lemsnlectors@trinitybr.org if you would like more information.

Lectors

Lectors have a critical role in the celebration of the Eucharist.  The Lectors read assigned readings from the Bible during the worship service.  Through their efforts and preparation, God’s word continues to be proclaimed to all his people.  The ministry of a lector is a very rewarding one. Please contact lemsnlectors@trinitybr.org if you would like more information.

Music

The choir sings at the 11 a.m. worship service and on other special occasions such as Christmas, Holy Week and Evensong.  It is open to all singers of high school age and older. Rehearsals are held on Wednesdays from 7:30-9:00 p.m. in the Music Room. There is a summer only choir which is called the Family Choir. This choir is for people 10 years and older. Family Choir rehearses on Sunday mornings before the service.  We also have a Handbell Ensemble that plays at the 11 a.m. worship service several times throughout the year. For more information, contact Organist and Choral Master, Elvia Parsons. Our Contemporary service is each Sunday at 9 a.m. in the Activities Building.  The head of this music is Deacon Charles DeGravelles.

Ushers

Ushers serve at the 7:30 a.m. service and the 11 a.m. service. The ushers work in teams and rotate throughout the year. The head of the ushers is Lucius Butts.
